Margaret "Peggy" Hobson & William "Bill" Hobson

Margaret Isobel Hobson                            William John Hobson
(Peggy)                                                               (Bill)
1927 - 2022                                                1924 - 2015

While staying with her aunt in Mount Forest in 1947, Mom had to get back to Toronto so her aunt waved down a truck driver and asked him to take her there. That driver was my Dad!
The truck had no passenger seat or working passenger door so Mom climbed in through the window and sat on a large bag of jelly powder. The truck broke down several times so the trip took the entire day.
They fell in love and were married three months later. They were married 60 years when Dad died, February 1st, 2015.
Dad's ashes were kept at Mom's side where Dad had always been until Mom died, June 1st, 2022.
Mom and Dad are now reunited and on their next great adventure, as Mom would say!
Bill was a handsome devoted  hard working Father, Husband, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. He was a very proud man and a great Dad. He was a decorated army veteran who as a private was singularly awarded Belgian's highest honour, The Croix De Guerre 1940 with Palm for repeatedly crossing a known mine field to evacuate trapped wounded soldiers'.
Peggy was a beautiful, tall, strong, giving, loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt who was loved by everyone who met her. She was a joy to be with right up to her last days.
Peggy and Bill are survived by their son William and wife Deborah, daughter Deborah and husband Tom, grandchildren Sean and wife Antonia, Will and wife Ginni, Doug and Laura and great grand daughters Ava and Adrianna. Mom is also survived by her sister Tammy of Las Vegas.
Our hearts are breaking at the recent loss of our Mom, she was so full of life, fun and always putting a smile on our faces and laughter in our hearts. She gave the best hugs and was always there for her family when needed.
The family would like to thank Mom's good friends Betty Jane and Jim for staying beside her during her illness with their constant visits. They brought her great joy.
Also we would like to thank Catherine Greenhalgh, the owner of Paradise Shores and her amazing staff for loving Mom and taking such good care of her. Mom died happy, comfortable, loved and with dignity. These people brought so much laughter and joy to Mom in her final days and gave us many happy memories. I thank God we found Paradise Shores when we needed them.
Thanks Also to Joanne Matte for ensuring Mom was in no pain and comfortable and for the many hours she spent with Mom and myself ensuring I was okay also.
It was Mom and Dad's wish that there be no visitation or funeral.
