Former Teacher at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School (1987-2007)

Peacefully in Orillia, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the age of 75 years. Michael Leonard Fox, beloved husband to the late Joan Fox (nee Garvey) for 35 years. Loving father of Lindsay (Peter) Montgomery, Sean Fox, and Vanessa Fox (Jeff Carrier). Dear brother to Paul (predeceased), Jim (Bonnie), John (Alice, both predeceased), Greg (Cathy), and Kathleen (Dave) Graham. Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Helen Fox; and sister-in-law Erica.

Throughout his life, Michael was known for his generosity and compassion, giving freely to numerous charities and causes that held a special place in his heart. A dedicated teacher and educator, he took great pride in sharing his knowledge, guiding others, and helping shape the next generation. Above all, Michael treasured the time spent with his family, finding his greatest happiness in the simple moments, shared laughter, and lasting memories made together.

As per Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm with Parish Prayers to be said in the Parlours at 6:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West Street North, Orillia on Friday, November 13 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. Michael will be laid to rest alongside Joan at St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
