Patricia Evelyn Ledlow

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia (“Pat”) Evelyn Ledlow announce her passing on October 23, 2026, at Mariposa House Hospice, at the age of 100.

Born in Toronto on May 4, 1926, Pat lived a full and active life devoted to family, friends, church and charity.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr. John Douglas Ledlow, DDS., her parents Vernon and Gladys Snyder and sister Yvonne Froud. Loving and dedicated mother to five children, John (Lynn), Roger (Patricia), Michael (Janine), Vernon (Lucy) and Janice. Proud grandma of nine, Sarah (Steve), Adam (Jennifer), Kevin (Esther), Leanne (Tony), Erin (Ryan), Spencer, Claire, Daniel and Amanda. Blessed with ten much loved great grandchildren.

After graduating from University of Toronto, Pat married and moved to Orillia in 1953 to raise her family. She was an active and supportive parishioner of St. Paul’s United Church, and was actively involved with United Church Women, University Women’s Club, Y’s Mennettes, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Bridge Clubs, Probus and others.

Pat was an incredibly strong woman, having survived Polio at age 5, the death of her husband leaving her to raise 5 children on her own at the age of 47, and a survivor of breast cancer. She gained strength to overcome adversity through a strong support network of family, friends and church.

She was blessed to have a clear mind and good memory right up until the end, even being able to beat us handily in Scrabble.

Though her passing leaves a huge void in the lives of those who loved her, the memories and laughs she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and a smile while serving as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

The family would like to thank her PSW ladies, family physician Dr Runk, plus Dr. Smith and the nurses of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, and the fantastic staff at Mariposa House Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia. As per Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, at 1pm Sunday November 15, 2026.
