McKendrick, William Arthur - (1926-2014) After a lengthy illness and at home in the arms of his loving wife of 66 years, Christina. William was born in Toronto to Arthur William Neil and Jean Nimmo (predeceased by his sisters, Dolly and Jean and brother, Bob). His jobs as a carpenter and foreman of McCrae Provincial Park were his favourites. He enjoyed years of cross country skiing, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and laughing with his children and grandchildren. William will be remembered with much love by his children Donna Lloyd (Arthur), Jeannie Dietrich (Wayne), and Julie Metcalf (Craig). Predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie McKendrick (Mike). Also remembered by his grandchildren, Ginenne (Rob), Beth (Jamie), Lisa (Tim), Jenny (Jaime), Marc, Sam, and Max, and his great grandchildren Daniel, Jordyn, William, and Claire. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by the Boston Terriers Stewie, Newman and Kalli (and the very large cat, Cookie). Much thanks to Rev. Corey Ball, Dr. Babcock (whose hugs he adored), Dr. Okafo (whose laughter cheered him), the staff from CCAC, personal support workers, and the many nurses from Bayshore Health Care. A service will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Sat. Aug. 9th at 3:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church Uptergrove or a charity of your choice.
