Vi Burkett

It is with great sadness that our mother Vi (Issaf) Burkett has passed away peacefully at  Mariposa House Hospice on January 28, 2023.  Vi was born in 1935 and was pre-deceased by her loving husband Harry (Hassan)(1997).  Loving mother of  Mike (Melodie), Fatima Maryann (Samir),  Jeannie (Abe), Dina (Hank), Jim (Sonja). She was loved and will be remembered by all her friends and family, nine  grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  As per Vi’s wishes a private family memorial has taken place.  The celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1 - 4 PM at the Washago Community Centre.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mariposa House Hospice. Thank you to Dr. Benjamin McNaull for his dedication and kindness while caring for our mother. We would also like to thank the nurses at OSMH for their kindness and compassion.  A heartfelt thank you to Home and Community Care Support Services North Simcoe Muskoka, the palliative nurses from Bayshore and the many PSW’s that took care of our mother.  A special thank you to Mundell Funeral home for the care taken to transport our mother to her final resting. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Mariposa House Hospice and or OSMH.
