Passed peacefully at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the age of 88 years. Vera, beloved wife of the late Walter "Wally" George Sommers. Loving mother of Linda (Fateh) Al-Joundi, Sharon Bennett and Michele (Steve Hampe) Sommers. Cherished grandmother of Christopher (Stephanie), Nicole, Cole (Lydia), Luke (Karlie), Keziah and Wesley (Bryanna) and great grandmother of Charlotte, Spencer, Ellie, Nason, Jack, Ethan, Maddy, Ivy, Beau, Mae, Esther, Maximus, Ada & Finley. Dear sister of Dawn Ottaway, Lynn Forsyth (predeceased) and William (Doreen) Pattison. Vera is survived by her nieces, nephew and their families. Funeral Service to be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2 pm. Reception to follow. Interment; St. Andrew's - St. James' Cemetery, Orillia.
