Robert (Bob) André Joseph Emilien Boucher

Surrounded by family, Bob passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025. Following a stroke in his home in Orillia - Bob was transferred to critical care at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois (née Tompkins), his four children Debbie, Susanne, Jodie (and her husband Mike) and Dan (and his partner Amy). He was proud grandfather to Ryan, Ivy, Aidan, Stephanie, Keil, Desneiges and Enya. Bob will be deeply missed by Lois, his partner in love and life, as well as their beloved dog Moca.

Bob was born June 1st, 1937, in Montréal, Québec and was the youngest of four children. His keen interest in aviation led him to enlist and serve in the Royal Canadian Military. Bob was a talented builder of all things big and small. His woodworking projects ranged from building a family home in Timberlea, Nova Scotia to rocking horses, cradles, and dollhouses for his grandchildren. Bob and Lois made many provinces their home - however Bob remained a diehard Montreal Canadiens fan throughout his life. Bob was known for his prodigious memory and voracious appetite of a wide variety of literature. His collection of National Geographic magazines was iconic. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing often with Lois, friends, and colleagues.

Following many happy retirement years in Burlington, Bob and Lois relocated to the northern town of Orillia. Bob found great pleasure modifying his electric trike and cycling for hours throughout the town’s many bike routes and trails. We are all grateful he was able to enjoy this passion to the very end.

A small and intimate Celebration of Life will be held in September 2025.

The family would like to thank the critical care team at St. Michael’s Hospital for the exceptional care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael’s Hospital (ICU Neurotrauma Unit). Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
