Philip Ronald (Ron) Parolin, 88, of Orillia, Ontario. Passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at the Alexander Retirement Residence in Gravenhurst. He was born October 11, 1938, in Arnstein, Ontario. He was the son of his loving parents, Walter and Adeline Parolin.
In 1964, Ron married the love of his life, Lucey Monroe Mark. Together they raised two children, Kara Parolin (Todd Evershed) and Mark Parolin (Jennifer). He was a devoted, loving, proud father who taught his children a strong work ethic, loyalty, kindness and a sense of humour.
Ron’s four grandchildren were very special to him. Mitchell Evershed, Liam Parolin, Macey Evershed and Kaleb Parolin. The grand dogs also brought great joy.
Ron returned to school later in life to complete his high school diploma and graduated from the development service program at Georgian College. Until retirement, he worked at Edgar Adult Occupational Centre and Orillia Huronia Regional Centre. Ron often carried the fresh scent of evergreens from his much-loved Christmas tree farm and loved the
social interactions he experienced with his customers.
After retirement, he enjoyed his time at the cottage on Lake Nippissing, gardening and volunteering for Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Ron loved a good laugh, a little teasing and simply being around the people he cared about. He was always happy to sit down for a game of cards or cribbage.
His warmth and sense of humour brought joy to those around him. His familiar saying, “cheery goodbye,” will forever bring a smile and a fond memory of him.
