Laraque; Patricia “Pat” Ellen (nee Sheehan)

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Pat, 75, on February 18, 2024, while at home in Orillia, Ontario. Her departure comes as a great shock and is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply.

Pat was born on July 9, 1948 to the late Edward and Virginia Sheehan, in her hometown of Sharon, Pennsylvania. She leaves behind her beloved brother Gene (Toni) Sheehan of Brookfield, Ohio. 

After graduating from Penn State, she moved to Canada in 1971 and began to build a life and family. Pat took great pride in her two sons, Philippe (Heather) Laraque of Fenelon Falls and Shane Laraque of Orillia. Pat was an outstanding mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and unending generosity. This could be seen in the care of her adored children, treasured granddaughters (Chloe Laraque and Zeanna Laraque), dear nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Pat was big-hearted, giving, and radiated positivity. She had immense passion for her spiritual work and was comforted by daily prayer, fellowship and the teachings of the bible. Pat was a strong devotee to her faith.

The family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N, Orillia from 1 - 3 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Memorial tributes will be shared at 2pm. All are welcome to share their words. One of Pat’s final wishes, to all those attending her Celebration of Life, is that you must dress in colour (no black clothing allowed).
