Parry; Neill Alfred
1945 - 2023
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Neill, at age 78.  After a valiant battle with complications from bypass surgery and the devastating effects of Covid, Neill succumbed to his illnesses on December 14th, surrounded by love, with Ray Charles playing him out.  Beloved husband of Violet (nee Tomlin) for over 55 years, cherished big brother to Richard (deceased), Bob (deceased), John (Alma, Stephanie, Christopher) and Anne.  The loving son of Catherine and Alfred Parry, Neill was born, raised and spent most of his life, until retirement, in New Toronto.  That was home to Neill and it always carried a very special place in his heart.  Neill worked in the Lakeshore area all of his life starting with a brief stint at The Anaconda before moving over to Continental Can where he worked for over 30 years.  He made a great life for himself and Violet as well as forming some lifelong friendships with the men he worked with.  Friendships, family, dogs, music, camping and annual road trips to Myrtle Beach were some of the most important parts of Neill's life.  A forever sports fan, Neill loyally supported the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays through many, many years of drought and still wore his team hats proudly. After retiring from CC, Neill and Violet moved their life to Orillia where they found a community of friends and neighbours that welcomed and supported them over the years.  Neill also became a proud member of the Legion where he spent many an afternoon playing cards or crib with George.  Some of the happiest moments in Neill's life were had at the trailer where he and Violet spent their summers with their friends and their dogs, fishing and swimming and socializing.  Neill recently told us what a happy life he had lived and that was because of the people who surrounded him and loved him.  In Celebration of Neill's wonderful life, a gathering will be held in Spring when all of his friends and family can get together and remember him with a story or a laugh, both of which he loved.  Cremation has taken place.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, Orillia.  Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
