Michal John Lawlor

Lawlor; Michal John (Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34- Orillia for 30 years; Past President & Vice President of Warminster Legion Br 619 until it closed). 

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Orillia on January 9, 2026 at the age of 78. Michal, beloved husband of JoAnne Lawlor (nee Terry). Loving father of David Lawlor (Geraldine) of Honey Harbour, Edward Lawlor (Jaime) of Orillia, Daniel Groves (Julie Bouverat) of Komoka and Elizabeth Kryschuk (Jamie Cutler) of Belleville. Proud Papa of Tyson Lawlor, Hunter Lawlor, Jackson Groves, Lucy Groves, Logan Lawlor and Alexander Cutler. Survived by brother Peter Lawlor of Arthur and sister in law Janice Lawlor of Orillia. Dear brother of the late Keith, Mark (Helen), (Sheila) and Lois Telford (Ray). Michal was born in Jarrett to Frank & Gladys Lawlor on December 30, 1947. He was a father, step-dad, Papa, husband and friend. He retired from Huronia Regional Centre in 2005 but he was not ready to completely embrace retirement, so he drove school bus until 2021. He umpired baseball, was an absolute card whiz, a huge Maple Leafs & Blue Jays fan, golfer and dart player. His family always came first, he supported his children and grandchildren through sports and life decisions. Special thank you to all of the Staff of Harvie II for their compassionate care. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 from 2 - 6 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, Orillia, 215 Mississaga St E.
