Maurice Reginald Truax

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maurice Truax on April 1, 2026, surrounded by family, at the age of 86. Loving and devoted father of Christine Roberts (Tom), Kathleen Roubos (Murray), and Sherry Truax (Roger). Proudest Papa to Chad & Leah Roberts, Jenna, Brent, & Jason Roubos, and Dustin Truax; and eight great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Reginald and Evelyn Truax. Brother to Howard Truax (Dawn), Jane Reynolds (William, predeceased), and Glenna Truax (predeceased).

Maurice was a feisty and determined soul, never afraid to speak his mind and always ready to take on whatever came his way. Deeply family-oriented, he brought laughter wherever he went, found joy in the outdoors-whether fishing or hunting-and lived as a hardworking, hands-on person who showed their love through both action and presence. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As per Maurice's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 12:00 PM, with a luncheon following.
