Mary Susan Herron (nee Leggatt)

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Susan (Sue) Herron, beloved wife of the late Dr. Vern Herron and cherished partner Terry O/Neill (predeceased).

Sue was the devoted mother to Tim (Linda), Marci Csumrik (Scott) and her late son Lindsay. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Brandan (Megan) Laura, Kyla (Eric), Alex (Kristin), Natasha (Brock), Ali (Alex), David (Erin), Kristin (Peter), and eleven great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and cherished niece Debra (Paul) and great-niece Mali.

Known for her boundless energy, sharp wit and unwavering spirit, Sue was truly a force to be reckoned with. After being widowed at age 39, she went back to nursing at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital while raising three teenagers. Later she moved to Toronto, to continue her career at the University of Toronto Dental Clinic until retirement. After enjoying many years in Toronto and Mississauga, Sue returned to Orillia five years ago.

Sue lived her life with passion, strength and a strong constitution for hard work. Her passions were travel, friends, bridge, reading and charitable work, but most of all shopping. Sue will be remembered for her sense of style, no matter what the trends were!

The family would like to thank the staff of Mariposa House Hospice, Champlain Manor and Dr. Geoff Grieve for their care and compassion; along with their deep gratitude for Sue’s wonderful personal caregivers Joanne and Barb.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on Saturday November 1st, 2025, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at Hawk Ridge Golf Club, 1151 Hurlwood Lane, Severn. No flowers please. If you wish to make a donation to the Orillia Youth Centre (Vern Herron Dental Fund) or Mariposa House Hospice, it would be greatly appreciated.
