Marion C. Putland

Marion was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on December 1, 1943. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, and received her Standard Certificate from the Department of Education in 1963.  She began her teaching career in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan and there met her future husband Robert (Bob) at a dance.  They were married in April 1965 and had one son , Brett, who was born in 1967.  In 1969 Marion and her family moved to Calgary where Bob began his long and successful career in building construction.  In 1988 Marion and Bob moved to Orillia and settled in their beloved house on Bay Street where she lived for the rest of her life.  Marion and Bob became members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Barrie in 1988.  On August 10, 2021, Marion passed away peacefully at home in Orillia with her family.  Marion is survived by her husband Bob in Orillia and her son Brett in Toronto.  Marion was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Emmie Lenius and by her older sister, Bonnie Reynolds.   Due to the COVID restrictions a Family Service will be held by "Invitation Only" at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Barrie.  Interment; Barrie Union Cemetery, Barrie.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
