Marion Frances Laverne Bolyea
(Nov. 15, 1941 - Sept. 1, 2024)
After a brave and lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Marion peacefully passed with family by her side. Loving wife of the late Ronald Bolyea, and wonderful mother to Dallas (Shirlene) Bolyea, Deanna (Dave) Kettlewell and Deidre (Dave) Bolden. Grandma to eight beautiful grandchildren: Madison & Indyana Bolyea; Ian, Jillian & Daniel Kettlewell; and Hailey, Nicole and Reed Bolden. Marion was also blessed with three great grandchildren: Ellie, Jack and Murphy-Jo.
Marion is predeceased by her husband Ron, Parents Harry and Cora Temple, her brother Glen and her sister-in-law Lorna Bolyea. She is survived by her siblings: Sharon (Roger) Brear, Leigh (Elaine) Temple, Gary (Karen) Temple and Cheryl (Brian) Feragotti. Sister-in-law to Grace Temple and Nick & Bonney Bolyea. Marion was an aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Marion lived a life that was focused on her family, church and work. Raised on the shores of Georgian Bay in a commercial fishing family, her love for the area brought her back to pursue her career in Nursing. She worked at Parry Sound General Hospital’s operating room and used her musical talents in the Parry Sound Pentecostal Tabernacle as an organist. She was a friend to many and offered an open-door policy in her home to several. She loved to work with her hands and could often be found playing music, sewing or knitting in her free time. Marion was an athlete in her youth and enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. She loved to cheer on her children and grandchildren at the ball diamond and spent many afternoons watching the Blue Jays on television. Marion enjoyed a good bargain and she could never pass up a good deal on Tupperware. In retirement, she and Ron followed their passion of RV travel, snow-birding in the winters between Arizona and Texas, and returning back to the Barrie KOA in the summertime.
Marion lived her life with love and compassion for others. Now, she is restored and renewed and rejoicing with her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and has been reunited with all those friends and family that have gone before her. We are thankful to have been loved by you!
