With deep sadness we announce the death of our beloved cousin and step-mother Marilyn Emily (Allan) Brown. Born in Orillia July 11, 1939 - June 4, 2025 in her 86th year. She is the daughter of the late Lottie (Elliott) and late Manley Allan. Marilyn grew up on a farm and was an only child, surrounded by cousins as a child Diane LeGear, Bill Fell, Garry Fell, Barry LeGear, Bryan Fell, Donna Fell and Kathy LeGear. She attended Forest Home Public School and had maintained a close friendship with her best friend Bea (Powell) Shelswell from grade one until the present. After highschool at ODCVI Marilyn attended teachers college in Toronto. She taught in Kapuskasing, Sarnia, Orillia and ended up in Scarborough were she taught over 20 years. When Marilyn was in her forties she met the love of her life Stan Brown and they married, now predeceased. Marilyn continued driving to Scarborough for over 20 years coming home on weekends until the last eight years of her career. She worked in Orillia at David H Church School. After her marriage to Stan, she became a step-mother of three adult children, daughter Debbie husband Ted Williams, Brenda husband Rick Barnes and son Bruce Brown. Marilyn enjoyed several step grandchildren and a step great grand son. After retiring she became a volunteer at OSMH for 25 years. She was active with her teaching association with meetings and lunch. She especially enjoyed getting together with the condo ladies for lunch. Marilyn was a person of deep faith and was a member of Forest Home United Church for her entire life. She especially enjoyed going to breakfast after church with members to Barnfield Curling Club. It was a special time for her to spend with and develop good friendships with members of her church. Marilyn was a very generous person who donated to many causes important to her. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family at the Mundell Funeral Home 79 West St., N., Orillia on Sunday, June 8th, 2025 from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm. Reception to follow at Forest Home United Church, 165 Line 15 N., Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Forest Home United Church (cheques only) or the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital would be appreciated.
