It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Judith “Judi” Lindsey who passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on December 27th, 2025 in her 83rd year.
Judi was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Lindsey. Loving parent of Rob and Kris of Collingwood, Greg and Adela of New Westminster/Barbados, and Jeff and Jill of Collingwood. Proud and cherished grandmother of Nate, Cael, Ella, Lola, Toby, Nicole, Nina, Marlo, Owen, and Ronan.
Also survived by her brother Robert Parnaby; her sisters-in-law, Lynda (née Brabant) and Maria (née Mitges); and fondly remembered by her nephews William, Andrew and Patrick, and her nieces Jennifer and Rachel.
Judi was predeceased by her parents Clayton Oldford Parnaby and Margaret Ruth Parnaby (née Tayler), and by her brother Walter Tayler “Hap” Parnaby.
Born on April 3, 1943, in Orillia, Ontario, Judi was educated at Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Toronto General Hospital. She enjoyed a distinguished career as a nurse and educator, working at Royal Victoria Hospital, Geneva Park, and Georgian College. Later in life, she combined her love of travel and entrepreneurship by opening The Great Escape, a travel-related retail store in downtown Orillia. Judi enjoyed collecting books and buttons, rug hooking, puzzles, and gardening. She was known for her kind and supportive nature, her generosity of spirit, and her warm sense of humour.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the teams at The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Ontario Home and Community Care Support Services, and Bayshore Healthcare for their compassionate care and support.
