Marg was promoted to Glory, passing away peacefully at Trillium Manor on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in her 85th year. Marg was commissioned and ordained as a Salvation Army Officer, Heroes of the Faith Session, in June 1964. She served in the Salvation Army Corps (churches) in Nova Scotia, and Ontario. Then, several appointments followed at Divisional, Territorial and International Headquarters. Marg was the Christian Education Consultant, followed by appointments at the College for Officer Training, Winnipeg, nine years serving in Pakistan in various roles. Returning home to serve at Booth College, Winnipeg, the Personnel department, several years in the United Kingdom, and once again returning to the Personnel department, Toronto, until her retirement in 1999.

During her years overseas, while principal, Marg co-ordinated and founded the South Asia College for Officers and many sessions were held in Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan. Marg studied at Fuller institute (1987-88) and obtained her master’s degree in leadership training and was influential over the years to train and equip many officers and lay leaders.

Following her retirement in 1999, Marg served in many roles of responsibility at the local Salvation Army Church in Orillia until she had a stroke in August 2016. Marg moved to Trillium Manor in the fall of 2016 and continued to be used of God as she conducted chapel services, and prayed with staff and residents at the Manor. Many remember Marg’s prayer wall in her room. A special word of thanks to the PSWs, Nurses, and Doctors at Trillium Manor who have given Marg such loving care. Marg also continued to worship weekly at the Orillia Church in her wheelchair and prayed and supported many during this time.
