Ranson; Linda
March 29, 1950 - December 6, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Ranson announce her passing on December 6, 2025 at the age of 75, at Mariposa Home Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was a devoted mother to Shawne Clarke (Tatum), April Clarke (Jason) and Robin Clarke-Ellis (Jeff) and mother-in-law to Rick Stanley.
Linda was never happier than when she was with her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Stanley (pre-deceased), Taylor Stanley, Brooklyn Ellis (Bailey) and Liam Perry. They were the joy in her heart and the lights in her life.
Linda was part of a wide and loving family including parents Wallace and Louise Ranson (pre-deceased), siblings Mary MacLennan (Kirk-pre-deceased), Wally Ranson (Norma), Reggie Ranson (Tina), Clara Kearney (Kevin), Joan Pitts (Noel), Daniel Ranson and Robert Ranson (pre-deceased).
She was Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews, a godmother to many and a cherished friend to Becky Fiore and Shirley Gardiner. She will be forever missed by her ex-husband Rollie Clarke (Jo-Anne) and her many friends and acquaintances. She was a second mother to many of her children's friends who called her ma, mom, momma, all of whom she referred to as her kids.
Linda was an artist at heart. She had the voice of an angel and it was not uncommon to walk into her house and hear her singing, at the top of her lungs along with the radio or one of her treasured records. She loved to draw and sketch and each Christmas her family and friends would eagerly wait to see what beautiful Christmas scene she would create on the large mirror in the living room. She often gifted her friends and family with her pieces of art. Now they are treasured mementos.
She worked for over 30 years for Trillium Manor, starting in the dining room and eventually going back to school, late in life, to obtain her cook papers. Her favourite thing to do when the weather was warm was to go to Frenchie's, grab a hot dog and fries and sit under the big tree by the water with a friend. She said it reminded her of down home and she always felt so at peace there.
Linda loved unconditionally and she was loved by everyone who met her. At the end of the day however, we all knew that she "hated kids, dogs and men"! LOL
Linda's family will be forever grateful to the outstanding staff at Mariposa House Hospice. The love and care she and the family received while there was above and beyond anything they could have expected. The work done there is truly beyond measure. Special thanks to nurse Jennifer who was the angel by Linda's side in the last moments. The family will never forget your care and compassion during that time.
The late Linda Ranson will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia, on Friday, December 12th from 6 - 8 pm, and on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 from 12 noon until time of service at 1 pm. Parish Prayers to be said in the Mundell Funeral Home Parlours on Friday evening at 5:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to Mariposa House Hospice would be appreciated.
