It is with heavy hearts to announce that Leo Boer passed away on August 13, 2026, at the Leacock Longterm Care Home after a very brief stay.

In his 85th year. Loving husband of Mary for 56 years. Father of Miriam Olimer (Chris) of Orillia and Stephanie (Frank) of the Netherlands. Stepfather to Ben (Angelique) also from the Netherlands.

Loving Opa to Joshua Olimer (Karla), Ashley (DJ), Rayden, Isaac, Caleb, Mirene all from Orillia, Sem and Vince from the Netherlands.

Brother in law of Hetty (the late Ivo) Balvers of the Netherlands.

Uncle to Hans (Miranda), Ed (Lonneke), Francoise and Yasmine.

Dear brother of Carla (predecased), Jackie (predeceased), Hugo and Jos (predeceased).

Leo was born in Zandvoort, Netherlands, in 1941. He worked at a candy store, and later turned it into a very successful night club in the heart of Zandvoort Main Street by the Beach.

In 1974, he immigrated to Canada and became a very successful production manager, for a large firm, which allowed him to travel all over the world. He could also speak many different languages.

His next adventure after retiring was starting R and R Fun Casino. To this day it is still going strong. He had to take a step back 6 years ago due to illness.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SPCA - Orillia would be appreciated and can be made through the Mundell Funeral Home (705)325-2231.
