It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Joe on Saturday March 20th, only three days short of his 79th birthday.  Beloved husband of Heather, and dearly loved father of Joel (Sally) and Aubrey (Jeff).

Joe was the quintessential family man.  One of his greatest joys was to be with his family enjoying his time with his grandchildren, Ethan and Sophie.

Joe delighted in instructing Sheet Metal apprentices at Sheridan, Humber, Mohawk and George Brown Colleges during his career.  He also enjoyed participating in the Skills Canada Ontario Completions as the Sheet metal co-ordinator.

His hobbies varied from curling, computers, travelling to warmer climates, gardening, wood working, model railroading, photography, and the occasional game of golf.

Joe’s commitment to his community was evident through his volunteering in Community Policing and the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Joe was a compassionate man who always made people feel happy and welcome with his unwavering zest for life.  He appreciated sharing and hearing a good (or bad) joke!

He will be missed by everyone that was part of his life.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service has been held and a “Toast to Joe” will be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Movember Foundation (www.movember.com/donate) would be gratefully appreciated by the family .  Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
