Surrounded by his loving family, John passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 06, 2025, in his 93rd year, at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.

Beloved father to Brian, Terry (Doris); cherished father-in-law of Lynne Boyd; "best Gramps ever" to Jeffrey, Michael (Heather), Christopher; Peter (Sue) and Andrea (Stephen); super special Great Gramps to Gracelyn, Finn, Lucy, Isaac, and Simon; and loving husband to Grace (pre-deceased) for over 60 years. Loving brother (and affectionately known as "Ham" ) to: Marvlene ("Marv"), Neil; as well as his pre-deceased siblings Laverne ("Bun"), Marion, Bill, Ross, and Arlene.

John enjoyed a long and successful career in Sales, continuing to work well past the usual retirement age. In his career, he represented a variety of Canadian companies, and product lines - including foods, distillers, and womens' and mens' clothing lines. John was an avid sports fan - Blue Jays, Leafs, and pro golf; and played a variety of sports - hockey, baseball (incl. the Orillia Majors), softball; and his greatest passion - golf, as a long time member of Couchiching Golf Club. He had many fond memories and friends of his times as an executive member of the Allan Cup champion Orillia Terriers; winning a Club Championship at "Couch", and travelling to Europe for both hockey and golf.
