Johanna Nitert (Loukes)

Our dear mother, Johanna Nitert, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Oct 16^th, 2023 after a long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Born on September 12, 1933 in Deventer Netherlands, Johanna lived a life filled with love, family, travel, and selflessness. After a memorable childhood in The Netherlands she ventured to Canada for a new adventure with her dear husband. She was a devoted wife, mother, oma, sister, aunt, and friend who was grounded in faith with an unwavering dedication to her family. Some of her favourite pastimes included gardening, cooking, baking, and a love for all animals. 

Johanna is welcomed with a loving embrace from her deceased husband Cornelius.  Together they shared a lifetime of love, creating cherished memories with their 3 children and a legacy of commitment & compassion. 

She will also be reunited with her deceased and eldest son Berny.  She is survived by her loving family; daughter Leona, son Jason and his wife Pamela, and daughter-in-law Pamela.  She was so proud of her children who brought immense joy to her life.  Johanna is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Benjamin, Michael, Cora, Sarah, and Megan. They helped fill her days with laughter & love becoming a light of her later years sharing stories of adventure and accomplishment.

A private family service to honor the life of our mother will be held.  We invite you to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada at Alzheimer.ca in place of sending flowers.   Thank-you for your generosity.
