Raaflaub, Joan (formerly Micks, nee Hawkins) Passed away in Orillia, on February 19, 2014 after a long courageous battle, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of the late Don Raaflaub. Mother and best friend to her daughters; Lynda Kerr (Guy), Kim Lismanis (Noel), Shelley Unwin (Mike) and Tammy Bothman (Tom). Dear step-mother of Doug Raaflaub (Franka) and Lynn Raaflaub. An inspiration to all her grandchildren; Scott (Leah), Landon (Jaclyn), Tiffany (Trevor), Brandon, Matthew, Tianna, Travis, Bradley, Tyler and Sarah. Great grandma of Ryerson & Jase. Beloved daughter of the late Joe & Edna Hawkins and step-daughter of the late Ila Hawkins. Much loved aunt & special cousin to many. Always remembered for her courage, her sense of humour & her love for family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sochaniwsky for his care & compassion shown to Joan. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Friday, February 21st from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Saturday, February 22nd at 1 p.m. Spring Interment: St. Mark's Cemetery (East Oro). If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
