With much sadness we announce the passing of Joan McRoberts on Nov 4, 2025 at the Leacock Care Centre in Orillia at the age of 83, after a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.

She leaves her beloved husband of 62 years, Keith McRoberts, and her much-loved children, Jodi Marshall (Steve), Brett, Heidi Vanderhorst (Bob) and Tanya, her grandchildren Zach (Jess), Katie Scholte (Greg), Ashley, Lauren, Owen, Emmett, Colby and Ava, along with her great-granddaughters, Isabella, Adaline and Josephine. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Robert Macdougall and Patricia Graham, her beloved only sister, Jane (Bob McMurtry) and is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Urquhart of Edmonton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born in Toronto where she spent much of her childhood in the Beaches neighbourhood before moving to Montreal in her late teens, where she met and married Keith. They moved back to Toronto in 1971 where they raised their four children and remained in the same home until relocating to Orillia in 2022.. During that time they enjoyed 50 years of annual family vacations to Buckhorn Lake, and travelled widely with friends.

Joan was a wonderful wife and mother and a welcoming host to anyone who entered her home. She was a completely selfless person who took the greatest pleasure in everyone else's happiness and accomplishments, and took enormous pride in her family. Always gracious and regal, she had a wide circle of friends and loved to entertain, and her warm hospitality and chocolate chip cookies will be missed by many. She was incredibly loved and brought light into every space she occupied.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home at 79 West Street North, Orillia on Saturday, November 15 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with words of remembrance shared at 2:30. Should you desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
