Joan McGuire passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at Champlain Manor in Orillia, Ontario, surrounded by loved ones.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved son Greg McGuire. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons John (Tracey) and Neil (Anne); her cherished grandchildren Shawn (Robyn), Brett (Connie), Meaghan (Darryl), Ryan (Denisse), and Kyle (Caitlin); and her adored great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Cooper, Scoti, and Chloe, who knew her as “Gigi.”

Joan’s love was felt in her baking, the comforting meals she prepared, and the countless hours she devoted to her grandchildren. Generous with her time and care, she had a sharp wit and a warm presence that made people feel at home. A special place for Joan and her family was time spent on Georgian Bay, affectionately known as “the beach,” where they gathered over the years to laugh, eat, and create treasured memories that will live on.

The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Champlain Manor for their kindness and care. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.

Joan will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
