Jean Guy Audet

Jean-Guy Audet passed January 9th, 2023 at Mariposa House Hospice.

Jean-Guy was the son of the late Maurice and Eva Audet.

Born in 1936 in Rouyn-Noranda, Guy was the eldest of nine children.  Brother of Gisele  Riel (late Eugene), Marielle Caron (late Jean-Pierre), late Jacques Audet (Charlotte), Denise Fortier (Elie), Gaetan Audet (Georgie), Rollande Masters (Ted), Robert Audet (Jocelyne), late Louise Audet.

Jean-Guy and his wife Anita (Theriault) (pre-deceased December 1985) had three children – Diane Cotton (Warren Howes) of Orillia, Carole Audet – Orillia, and Michel (Mike) Audet (Susan) St. John’s Florida.  Four grandchildren – Julie Hill (Mike), Andre, Anna, and the late Isabelle Audet.  Two great-grandchildren – Ethan and Dawson Hill.

Guy married Maureen (Healy) in June 1988. They spent 22 years married until her unfortunate passing in April 2010. Maureen was twin sister to the late Patrica Hannan (late Urban) and Edward Healy (late Carol).

Jean-Guy’s work career spanned some 35+ years with him finally retiring from management at JKS Bolyes in Orillia. He will be sadly missed by many former co-workers, friends and family in Orillia, London and Rouyn-Noranda.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Mariposa House Hospice for their care. Thank you also to Dr. Mike Odlozinski and Dr. Nitasha Anand for their care, concern and compassion.

Visitation will take place at Mundell’s Funeral Home on Thursday, January 12th from 11:30am to 1:20pm. Funeral Mass will take place at Guardian Angel’s Church (Orillia) at 1:30pm.

Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, immediately following the service.
