Jean Golisky

GOLISKY, JEAN of Orillia, formerly of Toronto, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Bruno B. Golisky (2008); loving mother of Dr. Bruno Golisky (Louise), Donna Golisky, and Dr. Debra Shoniker (Tom); proud grandmother of Dr. Jeffrey Golisky (Erin), Rev. Sherri Golisky, Christopher Bacso, Michelle Bacso (Tom), Lisa Way-Howard (John), Dr. Lindsay Shoniker (Derek), Dr. Thomas Shoniker (Jenn), Dr. Trevor Shoniker (Nicole) and Christine Shoniker JD (Brett) and great-grandmother of Nathan, Jackson and Sarah Golisky; Christopher Bacso Jr.; Leo, Bennett and Emily Way-Howard; Bella and Olivia Amaral; Theodore (Teddy) and Rachel Szasz; and Rosalie Jean Shoniker. She is predeceased by her sister Kathleen Forma (Michael). She will be sadly missed by her nieces, Dianne Dobney and Sandra Camilleri.

Jean was born in Majdan Skrzynecki, Poland, and immigrated to Canada with her parents, Joseph and Stella Arabski, at the age of two. Her family settled in Toronto where Jean completed her education, married, and raised her family. She enjoyed her lengthy career as an elementary school secretary. She retired to her home on Lake Simcoe. Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother - the heart and soul of our family. She will be remembered always with love and missed beyond words.

A private graveside service was held on August 21, 2025 at St Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Orillia. Arrangements were entrusted to the Mundell Funeral home in Orillia.
