Jayson Lucas French

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jayson French who died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 21, 2025 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Throughout his illness Jayson showed remarkable strength, resilience and grace, supported by the unwavering love of family and friends.

Jayson is survived by his beloved spouse, Becky, as well as by his children, Raygan and Lucas, who were the lights of his life; his loving parents Jim and Janis French and in-laws Wayne and Carolyn (pre-deceased) Abbott; his brother Jeffrey (Melissa) French, sister-in-law Janet Abbott (Glenn Thomson) and brothers-in-law Jeffery (Brandy) Abbott and Kyle (Krystal) Abbott. He will be fondly remembered by his cherished nieces and nephews Hayley, James, Carter, Emma, Matthew, Violet, Hannah, Max, Norah and Vera. Jayson will also be missed by many treasured friends and extended family members for his sense of humour, love, and loyalty.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Southlake Cancer Centre and to the team at Southlake for their compassionate care and support throughout his cancer journey.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4-7pm at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. North, Orillia followed by a Celebration of Life from 11am-2pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Hawk Ridge Golf Club, 1151 Hurlwood Lane, Severn. Service begins at 11am followed by light refreshments. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jayson’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (colon cancer research), KidSport Ontario or a charity of your choice.
