Gordon Stewart Beard drew his final breaths on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2025, as the clock hands read 8:45 p.m.. It was then; he joined his life partner of 41 years, Kim Godfrey, who predeceased him two short years before. Gordon Beard was in his 69th year.

Gord passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the people and the things he loved, after a valiantly fought two year battle with heart and kidney disease.

Gordon was the youngest son of Gladys and Eldon Beard (both predeceased). And was the loving father of Kenya Beard, Ted Godfrey (Audra), Joseph Godfrey (Lyndsy Baskiewicz) and Crystal Godfrey (James Lucibello). He was the proud grandfather of Riley Tryon, Jayden Tryon and Trista Godfrey.

Gordon was brother to John Beard (predeceased) (Bonnie), David Beard (predeceased) (Debbie) , and will be lovingly remembered by brother Paul Beard and his sister Elizabeth Cunningham (John).

Gord was barely out of high school when he began his lifelong career as a welder with Kubota from which he retired.

The entire family would like to acknowledge Dr. Peter Daniel for his attentiveness and many house calls, as Gord chose to spend his last days in the comfort of his home under the loving care of his son Joe.

Gord’s humour endured to the end and he will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
