Gloria Maloney

d. June 16, 2025

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful Gloria – a woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She passed peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025 with her daughter by her side.

She was a loving wife to her husband Rob, an irreplaceable mother to her cherished children Deanna and Daniel (Alyssa), and found immeasurable joy when becoming a Grandma to Madison. Gloria was also a beloved daughter and sister, a cherished Aunt, sister-in-law, friend and neighbour.

Though she lived with stage 4 cancer, her illness was only a small part of her journey. Her life was defined not by pain, but by beauty – both the way she saw the world and in the way the world saw her. She was a luminous person, inside and out. Gentle, endlessly kind, and always giving.

Gloria was shaped by many cultures and languages, but her Italian roots reflected the values she held most dear: warmth, generosity, and a love for family. She spoke fluent German, French and English – something that often surprised and delighted those who learned it. Her love of culture extended to the kitchen, where she was a truly gifted cook. She had a way of making every dish feel comforting and special, even when she claimed she was “just throwing something together”.

She found joy in travel and cherished her adventures to Italy, South Africa, and her favourite place of all—California. But no matter where she went, what people remembered most was how she made them feel: special, loved, and right at home. That was her magic.

We express our deepest gratitude to the remarkable care team who supported Gloria with such strength, compassion and unwavering dedication. You didn’t just care for her – you uplifted her, eased her pain, and made her feel safe and at peace. You carried us.

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends. In honouring her memory, we hope you’ll continue her legacy by showing love freely, hugging those closest to you tightly, and making others feel as valued as she made all of us feel.

“If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever”.
