Elizabeth "Beth" Meriam Varey

VAREY, Elizabeth (Beth) Meriam (nee Bailey)
passed away peacefully at
home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 18th, at the age of 71.
Loving wife of Gerald Varey and beloved mother of Kim and Jeff (Jill).
Cherished grandmother to Payton, Emma and Avery who were the love of her
life. Dear sister of Jim Bailey of North Bay. Sister in law to Raymond (Kathy)
of Orillia and Michael of Salt Spring Island, BC.
Beth will also be fondly remembered by her niece and nephews as well as
many cousins, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Edgar
and Beulah Bailey.
Raised in North Bay, Beth then started her career path as a Registered Nurse
at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, in Orillia. While in Orillia, she met Jerry and
they began their lives and built a family here.
Beth fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. The family would like to
first and foremost thank the Bayshore Nursing team and specifically Katherine
who provided exceptional care and compassion. Secondly, we are forever
grateful to Dr. Odlozinski, Dr. White and Dr. Singh for their continued medical
care and support.
At Beth’s request, cremation will take place and a private family gathering will
follow. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Mundell Funeral Home. As an
expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Simcoe Muskoka
Regional Cancer Centre, where Beth received outstanding care.
