October 21, 1933 — April 23, 2022

Milner; Elaine Roselyn
Passed away at Spencer House in Orillia on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in her 89th year.  She was preceded in death by her husband, David Milner, her beloved son, Peter Milner, and her brother Gerald Gerow.  She is sadly missed by her surviving son Michael (Marilyn Milner), her grandchildren Roz, Sarah (James Kerr), Stephen, and David (Trudy, David's mom), her two great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Sheila Gerow, and her niece and nephews.  Elaine, the only daughter of George and Sarah (Downer) Gerow, grew up in Midland, Ontario and moved to Honey Harbour after marring David.  There, she raised her two sons while working at the family business, the Honey Harbour Boat Works, until she started her long career as an administrator for the Georgian Bay Islands National Park.
Shortly before retirement, Elaine moved to Orillia where she became active in the community.  She was a volunteer at the Orillia Museum of Art and History for over ten years, where she greeted visitors with a bright smile and friendly conservation.  While at the museum, she became the volunteer co-ordinator for the gift shop. She also volunteered for other organizations such as the Literacy Council, and at Bruce Stanton's constituency office.  She was a long time supporter of the Couchiching Conservatory and she participated in annual bird counts.  She enjoyed nature walks, gardening, bird watching, dancing, swimming and playing bridge.  Elaine loved music, espec ially jazz. She enjoyed going to shows to support local musicians and she loved to watch her son Michael perform.  Elaine will be missed dearly by her family and her many friends.  As per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held, (date to be determined).  If desired, donations made in Elaine's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, or another charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com
