It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our family patriarch , Douglas Alexander Pearce - aka The Cranberry Man , on Dec 19th 2024 , in his 87 th year . Pre- deceased by the love of his life and wife of 63 years , Wanita Worthy( Young ) Pearce . Proud father to Bill ( Debbie ) Pearce of Bala , loving grandfather to Courtney , Amanda and Brittany of Barrie . Predeceased by his parents Eric W.L and Florence Pearce , brother Robert and sister Marilyn . Doug spent many of his adult years as an entrepreneurial success and self employed businessman. Co-founder of the Bala Cranberry Festival , one of his passions was building up and supporting worthwhile causes to make his community, a better place . The family wishes to acknowledge the love and support provided by the Staff at Sundial Lakeview Retirement Residence and the care given by the doctors and staff at OSMH . Cremation has taken place .
