Doug passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on the morning of August 15th, 2025, in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Darlene (nee: Parolin). Loved and devoted father to his boys, Aaron (Tara), Jason (Carolyn-predeceased), Sean, and Jordan (Laura). Proud Grampa of Julia, Katherine, Elizabeth, Rachel, Victoria, Samuel, Matthew, John, Hunter, Dylan, and Tessa. Dear brother of Alec (Linda), David (Sharon), and Elizabeth Mowat (Wayne). Brother-in-law of Terry Parolin (Joanne). Predeceased by his stepbrother Jim.

A visionary, entrepreneur and lifelong learner, Doug lived life with a spirit of adventure-always ahead of the curve, always embracing the new. With a heart full of warmth and generosity, Doug showed compassion towards others, built deep connections and touched countless lives along the way.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the team who provided exceptional care to Doug this past year. Special thanks to Dr. Grieve, Erin Carpenter, Addy from Care Partners, Nurse Julia from Bayshore, and Janice from Happy at Home. We would also like to express our gratitude to the many people who called and visited.

A private family interment will take place at Knox Cemetery, Oro Medonte. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22nd from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia. A service to celebrate Doug’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 11 AM at Hillside Bible Chapel, 195 Atlantis Drive, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, The Sharing Place Food Centre Orillia, or Missionary Service Committee Canada would be appreciated.
