David William Beard went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the age of 80.
David, beloved husband for 53 years of Sylvia Beard nee. Storey (predeceased). Loving father of Deanna (Etienne) Davignon and Lauren (Jonathan) Baker. Proud Papa of Nathan, Saskia and Sophia Davignon and Julia and Patrick Baker. Loved younger brother of Bruce (Wendy) Beard (both predeceased) and John (Hilda) Beard. Dear brother-in-law of Robert (predeceased)(Marilyn) Storey and John (Karen and Cecile both predeceased) Storey. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
David owned Beard‘s Farm Supply for almost 59 years. He and his brother John Beard started the business in 1967 and remained partners till 2010 when John retired. His sons-in-law joined him working in the company: Etienne in 2003 and Jonathan in 2016 and the business continued to grow. Dave was an entrepreneur who had good business sense and great people skills. He worked so hard all through his life and never slowed down. He still worked at the family business full time. From 2022-2024 he lovingly cared for Sylvia as she fought and lost her battle with cancer, looking after her at home until she passed. He leaned on the Lord for strength in his loss and continued to care for his family and became a daily presence in their homes for nightly meals. Dave loved to travel and even had his private pilot’s license in his younger years.
He was a tender and loving father and husband that left a wonderful legacy of what a good and godly man should be. He was a fun papa who was his grandkids’ biggest fan! All who knew him are still in shock of his sudden passing from a brain bleed while on vacation in Arizona. His family and friends deeply mourn his loss, but rejoice that He knew Christ and will spend eternity rejoicing with His Lord and Saviour!
