It is with loving gratitude for a life well-lived, we share that Cyril “Joe” Joseph Foley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 82. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Gerry (nee Shirk). Proud Father of Bill (Stacy) and Michael (Anne). Adoring Grandfather to his six grandchildren, Emma, Joey, Milsy, Lily, Maisy, and Lauren. He is survived by his siblings Karen Vieira (Robert), Peggy Petrie (Bruce) and Matt Foley (Louise). Brother-in law to Carole, Linda, Martha, Bonnie (Dan), Garry, and Sandra (Leo).

Predeceased by his proud parents Cyril and Loretta Foley, his sister Joanne Murray (Jack), and brothers Les, Peter, and Tom. Loving Uncle Joe to his many nieces and nephews.

Joe was born and raised in Orillia and was known to many on his mail routes throughout his 33 years of service as Letter Carrier with Canada Post. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, with a love of fishing and hunting, where he developed many lifelong friendships along the way. A staunch supporter of his Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays where he could often be found in lengthy conversation about all things sports.

Visitation will be held at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N., Orillia on Thursday, May 15th from 5 – 8 P.M. Parish prayers will begin at 4:45 P.M. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at Guardian Angels Parish, 115 West St., N., Orillia on Friday, May 16th at 9:30 A.M.
