Cathie McBride

Cathie McBride (nee Phillips) passed away peacefully in her sleep in her 85^th year, in Orillia on May 6^th, 2024.

Cathie was predeceased by her husband, Eugene (d. 2019), and will be remembered by her three children, Doug (Jennifer), Dave (Tracy), and Nancy.  Grandma will be deeply missed by Shannon (Cody), Taylor (Matthew), Kristie, Hannah (Philip), Elizabeth (Gunner), Spencer (Brad), and five great-grandchildren. 

Cathie was a proud graduate of the Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing (1961) and cherished her nursing career at Queensway General Hospital.  After retiring Cathie was an active volunteer with Hospice Orillia.

Thank you to the kind staff at Champlain Manor for their wonderful care of Cathie since 2021.

A Celebration of Cathie’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 2^nd from 1:00-3:00 pm at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. North, Orillia.  Words of Remembrance will take place at 1:30 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada in Cathie’s memory.
