Cameron "Cam" Russell Clark North

Passed away at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Orillia, at the age of 66 from multiple organ failure. Cam, beloved husband of 36 years of Catherine (Cathy) Addison. Loved brother-in-law of Dave Addison. Cherished Uncle of Michael (Rachel) and Jason Addison. Dear son-in-law of Ralph and Lillian Addison. Sadly missed by many cousins.

Cam attended Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto and later graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in travel and tourism. While he did not enter the tourism industry, it helped form the backbone of his love of travel. He and his wife Cathy enjoyed many road trips through Canada and the United States, as well as trips overseas to Britain, Australia and New Zealand to name a few.

While most of Cam’s working life was at Grand & Toy, he also spent time at United Janes, LAR book company and Beaver Lumber. It was at Beaver Lumber he first met his future wife, Cathy. Introduced through a mutual friend Pam who was working there, it was the beginning of a budding romance and two lives that became so deeply entwined before death separated them.

In his youth, Cam was a very good pitcher and had three major league teams interested in signing him to an MLB contract before a career ending pitching injury squashed his chances of a career in baseball. Baseball, however, remained near and dear to his heart throughout his life. Fishing was another sport Cam particularly enjoyed having spent many hours on the water with his wife and friends. Cam was also passionate about reading and had an extensive book collection. His enjoyment of classic cars, both driving and going to car shows, brought him many hours of pleasure as well.
