1:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Passed away peacefully and suddenly on November 13, 2025, at the Leacock Care Centre in Orillia, at the age of 92.
Survived by his loving wife Lynne; brother-cousin Paul (Judy); sisters and brothers-in-law Sandra Monk (Andy, predeceased), Keren (Steve, predeceased), Barb Patriquin (Mike), Graeme Cameron (predeceased). Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews Christine, Carrie, David, Leanna, Stephanie, Jamie (predeceased), Heather, Allison, David, and many great nieces and nephews. For their excellent care of Bob, the family wants to especially thank Dr. Grieve, caregivers (Ross, Cindy, Grace, Reggie, Wendy & Edna) and the staff at Leacock Care Centre.
Bob was a dedicated elementary teacher with the Toronto District School Board then he became the Phys Ed Consultant in the west end. Post retirement, he worked at OFSAA as coordinator of cross country running, track & field, and both cross country and alpine skiing.
Known by many as “The Voice” in track & field circles, he spent many hours announcing track events throughout Ontario and across Canada including the 1976 Olympics. After his second career, he and Lynne moved to their beloved Banff where he took on the job of Superintendent of the Snow Host Program at Sunshine Ski Resort for 5 years.
Bob was an excellent athlete, a Master Canoeist, Lifeguard, Level 3 Ski Instructor, OFSSA 100metre Hurdle Champion, who loved basketball, and continued to enjoy golf, but most of all skiing well into his 80's.
Bob was happiest when hiking with Lynne, skiing with all his buddies, hosting family and friends and traveling the world with Lynne, guiding “tours” in and around Banff, piloting sunset cruises and building projects at Allen Lake. And finally enjoying his much-loved Pralines & Cream ice cream and Tim's ice caps. It was a wonderful life well lived.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at the Couchiching Golf Course, 370 Peter St. N., Orillia on Sunday, November 23rd from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In memory of Bob, memorial donations to the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Orillia would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home (705)325-2231. Messages of condolence are welcome at ww.mundellfuneralhome.com
