Barbara Anderson (July 23, 1953 - June 24, 2024)

The family of Barbara Anderson sadly announces her peaceful passing on June 24, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Toronto, ON to Murray and Dolly Anderson (both predeceased), Barbara lived a life filled with kindness and generosity, cherished by all who knew her. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Kenn Poulsen. Barbara was the loving mother of Brent Poulsen (Carley) and the cherished Grandma to Callum and Keaton. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Liz Anderson, and remembered fondly as "Aunt Barb" by her nephews and nieces: Ben (Katy), Cody (Cheri), Amanda (Matthew), and Carly (Kyle). Barbara was predeceased by her brother Jeff Anderson. She will be deeply missed by her special friends Susan and Ellen, and her cat Tia.

Barbara earned a master’s degree in political science and dedicated many years as President of Spieth-Anderson Ltd., her family’s business. Her commitment to community and conservation was evident through her active involvement with the Probus Group of Orillia and her support for charitable organizations like Orillia Soldiers Memorial Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund.

Barbara had a zest for life that was reflected in her love for reading, music, and travel. In March 2024, she fulfilled a lifelong dream with a three-month cruise around the world, creating cherished memories along the way. Above all, Barbara found true happiness in the company of her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Thursday, July 25th, from 1-3pm at Mundell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Foundation, reflecting Barbara's passion for supporting her community.
