Morton, Anne Marie (nee Ryan)
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Anne Morton died peacefully on July 22, 2021 at Mariposa House Hospice following a long struggle with cancer. Anne will be dearly missed by her husband Gord, son John, brother Larry (Trudi), along with many in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends and colleagues. She was a devoted dog owner of golden retrievers, including Diesel and Whiskey at the present time. Anne was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Orillia with her husband in1990. Anne’s kind nature was evident in her interactions with family, friends, coworkers, and clients. She was employed as a paralegal for a number of years and closed her working life in her favourite position as a much-loved Personal Support Worker at Leacock Retirement Lodge in Orillia. Over the years she generously offered her time and talents to organizations like Helping Hands, the Historical Automobile Society of Canada, Joyland Beach Community Centre, and more. Anne enjoyed old car events, snowmobiling, camping, automotive flea markets, boating, waterskiing, walking and biking. Anne was pre-deceased by her father John, mother Genevieve and brother Jack. A private funeral mass for close friends and family will be celebrated at St Columbkille’s Parish, Uptergrove by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving a memorial donation to Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation which offers financial assistance to women who are unable to afford the extraneous costs of living with breast cancer or to Mariposa House Hospice who gave Anne exemplary care in her final days.
