In Loving Memory of Amy Gabriel
Amy Gabriel, a beautiful soul, passed away at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia, Ontario, on December 30, 2023 after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. Born on September 16, 1972, in Pittsburgh, PA, USA Amy touched the lives of everyone she encountered during her 51 years.
Amy is predeceased by her parents, Rose Wesolek of Mahaffay, PA, and Donald Wesolek of Pittsburgh, PA. Amy is survived by her sister, Nichol Queen (Scott), brother, Mike Wesolek, and her beautiful niece, Brooke Queen. She is also survived by Uncle Dave and Aunt Barb, as well as several cousins.
Amy's presence extended far beyond blood relations, as she embraced a wide circle of chosen family and friends. Her infectious spirit, kindness, and genuine compassion endeared her to all fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Amy found solace and joy in the outdoors. Her family farm in Mahaffay, PA, held a special place in her heart, and it was there that her cremated remains will find their final resting place. Additionally, Amy's favorite hiking spot, Hardy Lake, in Bala, ON, will be graced with the memories of her adventurous spirit.
Amy's journey on this earth was marked by love, laughter, and a genuine connection with others. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend, family member, or confidant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rainbow Club of Georgian Bay, continuing Amy's legacy of kindness and generosity, specifically in the LGBTQIA+ community.
