Albert Arthur Hilton Canning (1929 - 2022)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Canning at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2022, in his 93rd year. Beloved son of George and Lucilla Canning (nee Justin). Devoted husband of Laurine "Rean" Canning (nee Kilby) of 73 years. Dear brother of Clarence (Birdie) Canning and predeceased by Carl, Percival, Florence, Aileen, Ernie, Melbourne, Glenn, Evelyn, Arnold, Arnum and Ruth. Loving father of Pauline, Michael (predeceased), Susan (Mike) Krawczuk, Pat (Dennis Copeland), Albert (Dan Simms) and Robert (Clint Woods). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Riley and Lauren. Adored great grandfather of Jacob, Tristan, Trinity, Christopher and Evelyn. Albert was a loyal member of the Orillia chapter of the Independent Order of the Oddfellows for over 30 years serving many years as Noble Grand and also Secretary -Treasurer. He thoroughly enjoyed his time spent with his fellow members. Albert will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family, friends and his "children by proxy" Julie and Cam. The family will receive relatives and friends at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St., N. Orillia, ON (705-325-2231) on Wednesday, April 13th from 6 to 8 pm. Interment to follow at  Bethel Cemetery. Memories of Albert would be greatly welcomed on the tribute wall of Mundell's website www.mundellfuneralhome.com.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
