Sudden, but peacefully at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Friday, September 18, 2026, in his 86th year. John Freely, devoted and beloved husband of Pauline (nee Mills) for 62 years. Loving father of Jonathan Freely (Samantha Johnson) of Bracebridge and Jayne Jones (Jeff Emms) of Mt. St. Louis. Cherished and loving Grandpa to Joshua, Nicholas, Brittney (Jeremy), Megan, Adam (Vanessa), Craig, AJ (Cassie) and great Pappy to Jack, Henry, Aleah, Avalee, Callan & Austin. Dear brother of Desmond, Kathleen, Peter and Terence all predeceased. Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Iris Freely, Pamela Freely, Christine Nicholls (predeceased) & Pamela Berry and brothers-in-law Ray Nicholls & George Berry. He will be missed by his several nieces, nephews and their families.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 429 Jamieson Dr., Orillia, on Monday, September 28th, 2026, from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm. If desired, memorial donations to St. Mark's Presbyterian Church would be appreciated. Arrangement entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
