Obituary

In Loving Memory of Elaine Blanche MacKay March 28, 1939 - April15, 2026.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine MacKay on Wednesday morning, April 15th in her 87th year. Retired Registered Nurse in Sudbury. She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Muriel Craig, and her husband Howard MacKay of Sudbury. Cherished mother of the late Craig MacKay of Sudbury and Susan Scott (nee MacKay) (husband Brad) of Orillia. She was the proud “Nana” of Karlee (Neil) and Kole Scott of Orillia.

With the passing of her parents, husband and son, leaving her alone in Sudbury, Elaine established a new beginning moving to Orillia to be closer to her remaining loved ones. Elaine quickly adapted and enjoyed her time here in Orillia, being well cared for and loved by her family and new friends.

In her earlier years Elaine enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Lake Penage. Her most passionate hobby was travelling and shopping. Elaine had a vibrant sense of style and the confidence to express it fully, often turning heads and earning compliments. Her eye for detail extended into her home having décor for every season and occasion.

Special thanks to the staff at Spencer House for the care given to her over the past several months.

To respect Elaine’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Cremation has taken place.

If desired, donations in memory of Elaine could be made to the Orillia SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home, Orillia.
