Denise Marie Pierrette Schreck (nee Bourdeau)

June 22, 1944 ~ September 11, 2026

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Denise Schreck (nee Bourdeau) on September 11, 2026, at the Mariposa House Hospice, surrounded by family. Wife of the late Karl Philipp Schreck, and loving mother to Christine Schreck (Steve Marsh) and Stephan Schreck (Krista Braun). Proud Oma to Alyssa, Jaiden and Brody. Predeceased by her parents René & Marcelle Bourdeau; dear brother Maurice Bourdeau; and cherished daughter Andrea Schreck.

Denise was a woman with a quick wit, a feisty spirit, and a heart that cared deeply for the people around her. Hardworking and devoted, she poured so much of herself into everything she did; especially her many years as a teacher and volunteer, where she made a lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of countless students and peers. Denise was proud of the work she did and the people she helped along the way. But above all, she was a proud mom and grandma, and nothing brought her greater joy than the love and connection she shared with her family. Denise will be remembered for her strength, her humour, her generous heart, and the lasting impression she left on so many lives.

As per Denise’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Mariposa House Hospice in Denise’s memory.
