Obituary

Annette was born in Kirkland Lake and grew up in Swastika, the adoptive daughter of the late Romeo and Genevieve Mercier. In high school she met the love of her life, Lawrence Richard Hughes. They spent many blissful summers at Sesikinika Lake and were avid curlers during the winter months. Annette worked for the Royal Bank in Kirkland Lake and Timmins, and she and Lawrence raised five children.

She is survived by her five children, Larry(Caroline), Christina (Brian), Mark (Louise), Michael (Trina), and Liam (d. Karl, Stephen), five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Annette is also predeceased by her loving brother Eugene and by her second husband Roy Hall, of Ohio, with whom she shared a ranch in Florida before returning to Lake Sesikinika in the early 2000s. In 2019 Annette moved to Thornhill, Ontario and was cared for her by her youngest, Liam, until 2025.

The family would like to acknowledge their great debt of love and thanks to the extraordinarily caring and professional staff at Spencer House in Orillia. Arrangements entrusted to the Mundell Funeral Home.
